Our Covid Treatment Program
Over 2,200 Italian and foreign Covid patients have been successfully treated at our healthcare facility, thus being able to return to their families, as evidenced by numerous articles in international newspapers and television channels. Our hospital group has gained a unique expertise in the management of Covid cases, as since the beginning of the pandemic our Istituto Clinico Casalpalocco in Rome was chosen by the Lazio Region as a Covid Center connected to the INMI Spallanzani. Also located in Rome, Tiberia Hospital completes the treatment pathway by providing rehabilitation to patients who suffer from post-Covid complications (long-Covid).
Istituto Clinico Casalpalocco, Rome
At the Istituto Clinico Casalpalocco treatment of Covid patients and active monitoring are provided to keep their conditions stable and ensure good oxygenation. A standard therapeutic protocol is followed which has progressively evolved in order to improve the effectiveness of the treatments. Drug therapy is based on the use of heparin, cortisone and some types of antibiotics that have an action both against possible bacterial infections and on the interstitial lung tissue which is the most involved.
In cases of severe respiratory failure, in order to prevent the situation from worsening progressively, it is necessary for patients to be admitted to the sub-intensive therapy unit where oxygen is supplied with specific devices that help breathing. If this is still not enough, it is possible to move to the patients to the intensive care unit where they are intubated to ensure the necessary supply of oxygen.
Our hospital has remained without cases of transmission thanks to the great attention given to disinfection and sanitization, strict procedures and training protocols for all the personnel, 24-hour shifts of the staff, as well as robots equipped with UV-C lamps capable of killing 99.9 % of bacteria, viruses and fungi.
The Covid hospital can organize not only the hospitalization of patients but also provide transport from any country to the hospital as well as any other additional services that may be required.
Tiberia Hospital, Rome
Tiberia Hospital located in Rome completes the treatment pathway by providing rehabilitation to patients who suffer from post-Covid complications (long-Covid).
When a patient enters the hospital, a multidisciplinary diagnostic assessment is carried out, following which a custom treatment path is created, that can include the following treatments:
• complete motor rehabilitation with walking training,
• respiratory gymnastics for recovery of the physiological lung dynamics,
• motor activity for cardiorespiratory reconditioning,
• inhalation treatments,
• intermittent positive pressure lung ventilations.
At the end of the rehabilitation pathway, the patient will then be followed remotely through video consultations and/or scheduled follow-up examinations.
